HAMILTON, Thursday. Owing to the low level of the Waikato River, due to the filling oi' the Arapuni lake-, the Hamilton Borqugh has installed an auxiliary purop -near the wator's edge to pump the water from the river to the suction wells and ordinary pumps, thus avoiding a critiical situation. • • ■ • - ; The water supply is not now dependept on the river le-vel and copsequently the gates at Arapuni have been further lQwered. It is anticipated that the lake will be filled by Tue-sday. * •
