HAMILTON, Tuesday. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, Hamilton, report on their weekly fat stock sale held at Frankton yards as follows: —

Cattle: The slight improvement in values for the offering of ox beef was mainly due to the small yarding. Competition for good quality cow beef was keen and prices advanced a little over last week's rates, while average to poorer quality sold at values fully on a par with late rates. There was no change in store cow values. We quote : Average quality bullocks made from £5 10s to £6 7s; lighter, ditto, £5 ls to £5 10s; light quality £3 10s to £4 15s; prime fat cows, £3 15s to £4 10s; average ouality, £3 to £3 12s 6d; lighter conditioned, £2 5s to £2 15s; killable, 32s to £2 2s; stores, 15s to 24s; vealers, 16s to 25s. Sheep: The yarding was barely large enough to fulfil buyers' requirements. The majority of the fat ewes and wethers sold fully up to late quotations, while for some, values showed an improving tendency. Fat lamb prices advanced appreciably. We quote: Prime fat wethers, 14s to 15s; fat wethers, 12s lOd to 13s 9d; lighter quality, 11s to 12s 6d; prime ewes, 8s 9d to 9s 6d; average ewes, 7s to 8s 6d; lighter quality, 6s to 7s; prime lambs, 13s to 14s 61; average quality, 11s to 12s 6d; lighter, 10s to 11s. Pigs: The first of an average yarding met with steady competition, but as the sale proeeeded hidding slackened and prices declined to below those quoted last week. A full yarding of stores and weaners met with a poorer market than last week's and values show a slight decrease. We quote: Heavy baconers, 35s to 39s; medium baconers, 30s to 34s; light baconers and heavy porkers, 24s to 28s; light porkers, 18s to £1 ls; large stores, 9s to 12s„; slips, 5s to 7s; weaners, 2s to 4 s.
