A four-Po.wer conference between Great ^ritajn, France, Qermany and Itaiy to discuss methods to give ecpnomic aid to the five I^uuubian ?ountries is eonsidered & certainty in officiql quairters herel To-day, the Pri^tie lj|inister, M> Tqrdieu, indicated that Fi^nce would accept t^ie British semiofftcial proposal advanced yesterday for such a conference. He said thqt he expected to consult Mr. Ramsay MacDonalti so.on. It is believed likely that Mr. MacDonald an(i Mr. Neville Chamberlain will meet M. Tardieu probably at Geneya on April 11 to discuss, not only the D,anubian question, bu.t also the proposed Lausanne Conference. M. Tardieu tp.-day promised the Senate definite news shortly of an agreement hetween Finance and Britain on war dehfs. "Franpe's attitude has not phanged," he said. "We rej^use to tolerate repudiation of the ciebt signatures, but if tte Lausanne Conference is to succeed it is necessary to take prompt action. We must first save the central European States. "As soon as Frpnce and Britain reach accord Germany and Itaiy will join in the spirit of European' constBuction."
