The Government meteorologist Ig. i sued the following weather report and I forecast last night: — General Situation: An intense anti. cyclone covers New Zealand with its centre over the southern portion. ^ S vfgorous1 depression moved on to south-east Austraiia to-day Forecast: Winds moderate to fresh south-easterly to easterly from Cook Strait northwards; later northerly winds becoming genera! and freshening. Weather: Fair to fine for the most part, but still some misty showers north of Kaikoura and in the Far North. Co'nditions shortly becoming unsetied in the western districts, with rain developing. Temperatures becoming milder.
