Body in the Bag.

There was a big and very unpleasant surprise awaiting the thief who ran away with a woman's attache case at New Brighton recently. It happened thus. The woman had a cat, and the cat died. Because her garden was small and all the space was taken up with vegetables and flowers, she did not want to hury it there, so she hit on another plan for disposing of the body. Placing it inside of an attache case, she took a tram for New Brighton, intending to give her dead pet a burial at sea hy dropping it off the end of the pier. But as she was leaving the tram at New Brighton a man offered to hold the hag while she alighted. Unsuspectingly she gave it to him, when he immediately took to his heels and disappeared. Because the hag was an old one, and because he had taken an unpleasant task off her hands, the woman did not mind at all, but the thief's remarks on discovering the contents are not reeorded.
