Eucharistic Congress. Between 70 and 100 New Zealand delegates are expected to attend the Eucharistic Congress to he held in Dublin in June. The ,delegation will he led hy Archbishop Redwood, of Wellington, who will be 93 years old on April 8, and is stated to he the dldest' Roman Catholic bishop in the world. Archdeacon Holbrook, of Auckland, will attend the congress in the capacity of chaplain to the 'New Zealand delegation. Preparations are being made to accommodate 80,000 persons in Phoenix Park, Dublin, where the High Altar is to he erectetl. Schools and colleges, and even ocean liners, will he utilised as" hostels to accommodate the visitors. Revenue in Seaweed The initiative and spirit of self-help shown hy two unemployed men were praised hy the Mayor of New Brighton, Mr. E. A. M. Leaver, at a public meeting held to discuss relief measures in the horough. These men, Mr. Leaver stated, had seen the pos- - sihilities of revenue in the large quantities of seaweed that had heen washed up hy the recent heavy seas, and, with the aid of a cutting maehine, were busy gathering, cutting and hagging the kelp. The kelp was well known for its fertilising properties, said Mr. Leaver, and he thought the men should have little difficulty in finding a sale for it.
