DIRT TRACK RACING
SPEED KINGS TO EXHIBIT THEIR BROAD SIDIN G SKILL Again Rotorua residents and visitors will be thrilled with the feats of the dirt track! kings, when Rotorua Speedways stage their motor cycle meeting on the quarter-mile circuit on the Te Ngae Road, on Monday. Riders who have made their name in contests all over New Zealand and have entertained thousands of spectators at Western Springs Speedway, at Auckland, are entered for events on Monday. Those who attended the fofmer meeting at the Rotorua speedways to a certain extent had their enjoyment spoiled by the clouds of dust thrown up when the speed kings broadsided on the sharper bends, but this time no such nuisance will be present as effective measures have been taken to cope with this, the only drawback. Among the riders of Western Springs fame are such names as Charlie Goldberg, Frank Day, Doug. Mattson and Bobby Cairns. Other noted exponents of the track from all over the Auckland Province will also be present.
