Ree. Mar. 23, 7.10 p.m. NEW YORK, Tuesday. The tornadoes in five southern States caused 275 deaths and perhaps 250,0 persons were injured. Late tonight information revealed that nearly 50 widely scattered communities were affected. The distribution of the casualties by States is as follows: Alabama 220 deaths and 2200 injured; Georgia, 34 deaths and 150 injured; Tennessee, 17 deaths and 100 injured; South Carolina, two deaths and 25 injured; Kentucky, two deaths, injured not yet estimated.
