Warning to Motor Cyclists.
I have lssued a warning beforp about these noisy motor cycles. I think I shall make this the second and final warning. In future I shall impose a penalty which will make motor cyclists be certain that theh" machines are properly silenced. In fact, if these offences persist, I shall make the fines so stiff that the offenders will have to give up motor-cve-ling," declared Mr. E. C. Lewey, S.M., in the Police Court in Invercargill, when the city traffic inspector brought a number of prosecutions agafnst numbers of riders of motor cycles without efficient silencers. The offences, the inspector said, took place -m January 16, on the occasion of the races at Oreti Beach. They were not racing cyclists themselves, but were spectators. The magistrate: "They've got the fever, 1 suppose. Well, we'll have to cool their temperatures so that other people can enjoy a litfcle i~eace."
