BERLIN, Monday. The following are the final official residential election figures:—
;A second ballot will be necessary, arshal Hindenburg narrowly missing : absolute' majority. The returns from Meakenburg, iich cannot affe'ct the result, are i; ineluded in the above figures. Eighty-five per cent. of the eleetora voted, the total votes cast being ,660,3 7 7. The votes cast for President Hinnburg are only 163,453 short of a iar majority. His success on April is therefore regarded as certain. The Kftineland, which is predomintly Catholic, gave President Hindenburg a large majority, and he also d an absolute majority in Berlin, ere Herr Hitler was a bad third to iit Thaelmann. it is significant that in Southern rmany, where the Navy movement ginated, Herr Hitler polled fewer ;es than President Hindenburg. The esident was also victorious in Westilia, where the industrial districts i hitherto been doubtful, but ap'ently at the last moment decided ; to trust Herr Hitler's vague prom-
