Rec. Mar. 3, 8.15 p.m. N}ErW YQRK, Thursday. The Chicago Chamber of Commerce has disclosed an investigation that it ljas made over a numher of years. This shows that kidnapping has become a regular industry, and that since 1929, approximately 2,000 persons have been taken and millions of dollars extorted in ransom. Organised gangs, the Chamber said, took not only children of world heroes, but also children of bootleggers, gamblers and other individuals whose personal interests would prevent them frpm calling on the law for aid.
