CAR AND TRUCK MEET ON WHAKATANE INTERSECTION

WHAKATANE, Tuesday. At six o'clock this evening, a motor collision o'ccurred at the intersectipn of King Street and Victoria Aveuite, "Whakatane. Ruben Toma, a Maori, was driving a light truck in which he was carrying a number of other natives as passerigers, when he came into collision with a five-seater sedan car driven hy Mrs. Wetherell, of Whakatane. The collision occurred as Mrs. Wetherell was negotiating the corner toward the Whakatane bridge. Appareritly, a car which was parked on the corner obscured the view, with the result that the two vehicles met on the intsrsoction.
