ALBION PLAY TAURANGA

A match was played at Tauranga during the week-end between the Albion Club and a Tauranga team, which included some of the bestknown players of the district. Albion batted first and could secure the small total of only 49 runs against the accurate bowling of Neno and Broberg. Sutherland was the top scorer in this innings with 17 runs, including the only "sixer" of the innings. J. Hinton (13) scored the next highc-st total but the tail collapsed badly, four wickets falling when the total was 46 without a run being added. Broberg ended the innings with the impressive figures of six wickets for eight runs, Neno taking three wickets for 34 runs. Tauranga opened well and soon passed the Albion total, Bradmore giving the side a fine start by scoring 47 runs with sound strokes before retiring. Fell, who contributed 26 runs, also I gave a fine display before being bowled by Hampson, who , was sending J down some good deliveries. The Alb'on attack was handieapped by a hip injury received by Lenihan, his deliveries in consequence lacking their usual sting.
