THE WEATHER
The Government meteoroiogist issued the following weather report and forecast last night: — General Situation: Yesterday's depression has now . passed eastward, but pressure is still rather low from New Zealand across the North Tasman Sea to Queensland. Forecast: Winds variable with light to moderate northerlies prevailing over the North Island. Southerlies over the South Island, and gradually becoming ge'neral, later freshening somewhat. Weather: Fair to cloudy, showers in southern districts, extending along the east coast of the South Island. Scattered showers also in other parts with some thunder storms. Following are the barometer, maximum and minimum thermometer and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Ohservation Station by the Rotorua To'urist Department, for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday: — Barometer 29.882ins.
