BASKETBALL DANCE
Last Friday eVening the members of the Ngongotaha Basketball Association held another of their sueeessful dances in the Ngongotaha Hall. From the first to the last danee the evening was a decided success, Mr. E. Shalfoon and his 'Melody Boys providing an excellent programme of dance number s. Several novelty dances were held and during the evening an attractive supper was served. Members of the committee repsonsihle for the capable organisation comprised Miss H. Matthews, Miss D. Cronin, Miss M. Paterson, Miss C. Cronin and Miss R. Brake. Representatives from Guatemala, Peru, and Venezuela upheld the Latin tradition hy demanding that the League of Nations should suhmit a report on the nationality of married women to the Assembly after consultation with the. great world organisations of women. New Zealand, which has not any women police, should note that Los Angeles has appointed its first woman Police Commissioner to deal with its posse of female guardians of the peace. Japan is coquetting with a Bill to enfranchise women for city, town, and villages assemblies.
