Carroll stat that at one time aecused was a jock and well-known on race courses, t he had fallen upon evil ways andt been convieted of forgery, falsepi tences and theft, and as a result 1 been excluded from race meeting On the charge of drunkenness Gi was convieted and discharged, a for trespass on the course was fin £6, oi-, in default, six weeks' imp sonment.
