CASUALTIES WHEN POLICE DISPERSE BENGAL CROWD Rec. Feb. 16, 9.50 p.m. CALCUTTA, Tuesday. The police were forced to fire when a gathering of 3,000 peasants, called to institute a "no rent" campaign, refused to disperse in the village of Comilla, a district of Bengal. Three were killed and 32 wounded, while five constables were injured. The meeting was called by the Tippra Peasants Workers' Society, a body whose activities in the district have practically resulted in setting up a parallel government.
