THE WEATHER
The Government meteorologist issued the following weather report and forecast last night: — General Situation: Pressure is very uniform over the New Zealand area, but a shallow depression is advancing from the Tasman Sea. Forecast: Winds light easterly to northerly, gradually becoming more northeriy and increasing somewhat. Weather: At first fair, warm and sultry, but with isolated local showers and some thunder. Later rain gradually becoming more widespread with a prospect of fairly general falls during the next two or three days. Following are the barometer, maximum and minimum thermometer and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Ohservation Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department, for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday: — Barometer 29.887ins. Thermometer (max.) .... 78.2deg. Thermometer (min. on grass) 49.4deg. Rainfall 005ins. y. f.1 . . . — — -
