Relief Workers' Viewpoint.
"People talk about the unemployed not showing much enthusiasm for their work," said a relief worker employed by a local body in Christchurch. "Well, it's pretty discouraging when you ate sent out to dig over the same piece of ground five times. It's quite obvious that half the time they don't know what to do with you, and I knew of one case where 100 men were put to work digging about half an acre of land."
