MAJESTIC
TO-DAY AND TO-NIGHT. Belle Bennett, who has portrayed a number of mother roles on both , stage and screen, is the mother in "Courage," the Warner Brothers and Vitaphone drama which comes to the Majestic Theatre to-day. In "Courage," Miss Bennett enacts the widowed parent of seven children, all but one of whom turn against her despite her valiant efforts to give them everything they desire. Miss Bennett's characterisation in "Courage" is said to be her most convincing portrayal to date? which is saying a great deal. Who has forgotten Miss Bennett's "Stella Dallas?" The mother in "Courage" is whimsieal, inipulsive, and blessed with humour. She is a spendthrift of both money and love. It is a mother characterisation, quite new and altogether delightful. Marian Nixon is featured in the role of the eldest daughter, while Richard Tucker, Rex Bell, Blanche Frederici, Carter deHaven Jr., Leon Janney, Charlotte Henry, Dorothy Ward, Byron Sage and Don Marion are also in the cast. "Courage" is adapted by Walter Anthony from Tom Barry's successful stage play of the same name.
