Rec. Feb- 5, 9.25 p.m. SYDNEY, Friday. Commenting on the British tariff on buttei'j Mr. C. E„ Meares, Manager of the Producers Co-operative Distributing Society, said a ten per cent. British preference will mean a great deal to Australia in view of the fact that 20,000,000 Ibs of butter will be produced in Australia this season, and at least 50 per cent. of which will be exported to Great Britain. This preference will reduce the gap between Australia and Danish prices and will also provide for additional stability to the dairying industry.
