KING'S SPEECH

FORTHCOMING OPENING OF NEW SYDNEY BRIDGE. RECORD FOR BROADCAST. LONDON, Wednesday. After a cpnferepc.e with the Post Office and British Broadcasting Corporatiqn, the Agent-General fer New South Wales (Mr. Willis) has eabled to the Premier (Mr. Lang), suggesting that His Majesty's speech for the opening of the Harbour Bridge could be recorded at Buckingham Palace. One record would immediately be sent to Australia, and the others retained in England, to be brpadcast there at the time of fhe opening ceremony. Technical experts declare that the risk of fading attending a direct telephonic broadcast would thus be eliminated without loss of quality in the vocal production. Mr. Willis told the Sun that everyone was most keen, and that the adoption of the proposal only awaits Mr. Lang's assent.
