A message from Aguascalientes states that Mr. Davis, part^owner of Phar -Lap, has departed for San Francisco and will meet Elliott, Phar Lap's jockey, on his arrival on February 12: Phar Lap's first public appearance will he on February 7. Meanwhile, curious spectators are barred in the vicinity of the stable, which is still constantly guarded. Mr, Woodcock, the trainer, said that he wants the, horse to be thoroughly familiar with his surroundings before coming before crowds. Phar Lap had a saddle on his back yesterday for the first time, Martin exercising him. He was given two miles limbering up, and then walked for an hour behind his own stable.
