HAMILTON, Saturday. At a well-attended meeting of unemployed relief workers in Hamilton yesterday afternoon resolutions strongly protesting against the introduction of a five-day weelc, as adopted at Rotorua at the request of the Unemployment Board, were unanimously carried. The opinion was offered that the five-day scheme had been quietly introduced at Rotorua with the object of paving the way for its adoption throughout the Dominion. It was characterised as a further attempt to reduce wages by the profiteei'ing of poverty. It was decided to forward a copy of the protest to the Hon. J. A. Young and the Hamilton Borough Council. The executive committee of the Unemployed Workers' Movement was deputed to interview the Hon J. A. Young on several matters relating to the administration of the Unemployment Board, particularly in regard to reduced working hours. It was stated that the Wellington unemployed Tiad been reduced three hours weekly, as against seven hours weekly at Hamilton.
