SPONGE PUDDING WITH FUDGE SAUCE

4 eggs, £ cupful eold water, - teaspoonful salt, £ cupful castor sugar, 11 teaspoonfuls baking powder, £ teaspoonful vanilla essence, 1£ cupfuls fiour. Beat eggs and sugar together till honey coloured. Stir in the water and the flour, the baking powder and salt sifted together, then the vanilla. Bake in a buttered baking tin in a moderate oven for about 20 to 30 minutes. When cold, cut into squares and serve with fudge sauce.
