THEFT OF MONEY
YOUNG GIRL CHARGED IN ROTORUA MAGISTRATE'S COURT In the Rotorua Magistrate's Court yesterday afternoon, before Messrs. W, L. Richards and P. B. Nesbit, J's.P., a" young woman was charged with the theft of £1 12s in moneyand several foreign coins. Senior-Sergeant Carroll said the fjacts went to show that the girl had been employed by a farmer at Helensville as housekeeper. During his absence she left the place and the money was missed. There was a certain amount of money owing the accused as wages, but not to the amount stolen. There was nothing known against the accused, and he did not suggest a serious view of the case. The accused pleaded guilty and the Bench decided to enter a conviction and order her to come up for sentence in six months' time. The foreign coins. were recovered, and three weeks • were allowed to ' make restitution of the £1 12s, An order was made for the suppression 1 of the name.
