FINALISING OF BUSINESS OF CHRISTMAS TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE MEETING HELD A committee meeting of the Rotorua Lawn Tennis Club was held on Wednesday evening to finalise the iusiness of the Christmas tournament. The club captain, Mr. N. Smith occupied the chair, and there were also present, Mrs E. G. Guy, Miss L. Dannefaerd and Messrs McLean, McDowell, Fraser, Harron, Noble, H. C. Smith, Yallop and Cunningham (secretary). An apology was received from Mr. E. G. Guy. An financial statement was presented by the tournament secretary showing that the Christmas tournament realised a profit to the club of '314 6s 5d. Total receipts were £69 16s 6d and expenses £55 10s ld. It was moved by Mr. McLean that the committee place on record its appreciation of the manner in which ihe tournament was managed. Appreciation was also recorded of the excellent services rendered by Messrs R. Royal, G. McDowell and Johnson. A vote of thanks was also carried for the help given by the Tourist Department. It was decided, that the trophy for the men's championship singles in this tournament be reduced from £2 2s to £1 ls for succeeding tournaments. The purchase of a miniature of the •Sumner Memorial Cup was left in the hands of the match committee. The resignation of Mr. Robert Kirk as a member of the club was accepted with regret, but he is to be renuested to continue as a vice-presid-ent.
