The situation regarding the proposed Reparations Conference qt Lausanne is still uncertain, although clarification is anticipated during the riext day or two as a result of exchanges between the Governments doncerhed. To-day M. Laval, Prime Minister df France, outlined the policy of the new Government on reparations and disarmament to the French Chamber, and it is generally e.xpecteI that he will receive a vote of confidenc.e. Meanwhile, Press messages state that he has approached the United btates Administration, through ihe American Ambassador in Paris, regarding America's attitude to a possible extension of the Hoover moratorium. . ..
A Washington Press message states ! that if Europe draws up concrete plans . to meet the present emergency the United States will give them careful consideration, but tvill not participate in the preliminafy negotiations.
