(Press. Assn.-

described as "red terror of antipodes" by 'friso press TEST RUN PROBABLE

-By TeLigraT'h— CopyrigliO.

Rec. Jan. 20, 8.40 p.m. NEW YORK, Wednesday. A message- from San Bruno, California, states that those who are handling Phar Lap say that the horse will probably enter a test race there within the next three weeks, carrying 9st 31bs, over a mile and a quarter, which is the Aguascalientes Handicap distance. It is expected that Phar Lap's competitors in the trial will be Mr. Marchbank's Mopeca and Plucky Play. ^ San Francisco newspapers describe Phar Lap as the "Red Terror of the Antipodes." Admiring crowds are going daily to see Bhar Lap, who retained his placid temperament throughout the long voyage. The. visitors were strangely disappointed with his amazing docility. Mr. John Marchbank's stables are finely situated on rising ground, and the horse is making himself at home. The trainer, Mr. Woodcock, remains in attendance. To an interviewer he said: "We in Australasia do not know Just how good Phar Lap is. He has done everything asked of him against the best competition that can be off ered. I can say without hesitation, that he has never been extended. I do not think the hard dirt tracks here will affect him."
