t The Government meteorologist is- . sued the following weather report and forecast last night: — General Situation: Pressure distribution is still very complicated. With the. exception of an area of relatively high pressure in the North Tasman Sea, barometers everywhere are low. A deep depression is passing to the southward. Forecast: Winds variable, with northerlies prevailing at first and strong in thejar North; later changing to freshe'ning southerlies extend- _ ing graduaily over the Dominion. Weather: Fair to f!ne, hazy and ■ "Warm generally at first, but some scattered showers, more especiaMy in the eastern and far southern districtsj with southerly changes. Following are the barometer, maximum and mmimum thermometbr. and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Observatiori Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department, for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday: — Barometer ....- 29.762 ins.
