AUCKLAND SHOW

ATTRACTIVE CLASSES FOR EXHIBITOR The schedules for the forthcoming Auckland A. and P. Association's Summer Show are now in circulation. Interest has been concentrated upon the dairy cattle-, fat lambs and bacon and pork classes Recognising that the breeders of the Auckland Province have little opportunity of gaining Royal Show awards, the Metropolitan Association in Auckland has undertaken to award the Dominion Dairy Championship in each of the Jersey, Shorthorn, Ayrshire and Friesian sections. A new class has been added for the best bacon pigs, with very liberal prize-money. This should prove a very educative class. In the pork section, nearly £7 0 in prize-money has been provided for the best porker suitable for the English market.. This class will be judged alive, then frozen ■ and shown and judged again on the Smithfield market. This will provide very useful information, and it is confidently anticipated that the pork producers in the province will assist in making this the largest exhibition in prime pork that has e-yer been made on the Smithfield market. A district competition in fat lambs has been arranged, and will further serve to indicate that the fat lamb industry has exphnded in the Auckland province in recent years. A lib- • eral classification "and prize-money has been arranged for every class of live stock, and there is the usual classification for home industries and produce. [
