| The Government meteorologist issued the following weather report and forecast fast night: — General Situation: A shallow depression crossed the Dominion to-day, while .a fairly inte'nse anti-cyclone is centred East of Tasmania. A tropical disturbance is reported East of Suva and moving southwards. Forecast: Winds, moderate to strong southerlies. ' Weather: Fair on the West Coast of the South Island, elsewhere dull and misty,""with scattered showers. Temperatures cool. Following are the barometer, maxi- - mum and m'rtiimum thermometer and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Observation Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department, fOr the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday: — Barometer .... 29.650 ins. Thermometer (max) 67.8 deg. Thermometer (min on grass) .... 40.1 deg. Rainfall .... X Nil.
