THREE INQUIRIES OPENED, SUPREME COURT JUDGE RESIGNS EXCITEMENT IN WASHINGTON

Rec. Jan. 13, 7.50 p.m. WASHINGTON, Tues. Mr. Justice Holmes of the Supreme Court, has resigned for reasons of health following reports that Hawaiian citizens are demanding martial law to restore order. The President, Mr. H. Hoover, the Cabinet, and the House of Representatives Committee on Naval Affairs have opened individual inquiries into the Hawaiian situation, which is causing an exceptional amount of excitement here. Mr. Kaleoaloha Houston, Hawaiian delegate to Congress has despatehed to Honolulu newspapers a message stating: "I hope, for the sake of Hawaii, that the guilty will surrender and make the supreme saerifice to help clear the name of our land and rehabilitate our reputation."
