LONDON, Tuesday. The Air Ministry, the Handley Page Company, and other air-craft firms have decided to experiment with an aeroplane stabiliser, the invention of Mr. S. Roberts, of Auckland, New Zealand. , Many pilots, using various types of machines, have tried out the invention at Heston and speak highly of the effectiveness of the device under severe conditions. They claim that the invention immediately stopped a deliberate spin and enabled the pilots to retail their course perfeetly when flying blind in a fog. The device it is stated would be successful even on machines not fitted with a slotted wing.
