(To the Editor). Sir, — As a resident of Rotorua and a subscriber to the municipal library, I feel it a duty to express astonishment at Mr. Musgrave's letter. Whatever opinion visitors and tourists may express in print, it is not either tactful, true or kind to say the things he does of a very useful and well managed institution. I have belonged to the public libraries im Auckland, Wellington, Sydney and Adelaide, and never met with greater courtesy than is awkrded by our own librarian. The reference and educational section is exeeedingly well chosen and up-to-date for so small a town. ^ I have frequently heard visitors express the most sincere appreciation, both of iibrary and the librarian, and am surprised that a local man finds fault with either. — I am, etc.
