On behalf of the New Plymouth Aero Club, Mr. Nisbet also presented Wing-Commander Grant-Dalton with a framed photograph of Mount Egmont. In responding Wing-Commander Grant-Dalton said that before he left the service, he told Squadron-Leader Wilkes that he would like to present a trophy to the four squadrons in New Zealand to compete for each year, the trophy to be presented to the most efficient squadron. He hoped that the four squadrons in New Zealand would keep up to the mark. It was impossible to run a service unless training operations were carried out at least once a year. .-Air mails were one aspect of aviation he would like to see go ahead in New Zealand. He noticed it was successful at Christmas time. He thought that when the slump was over it might be developed. The inscription on the tray is as follows: "Presented to Wing-Com-mander Grant-Dalton on his departure from New Zealand by the New Zealand Aero Club (Incorporated)."
