SYDNEY, Saturday. The State's expenditure for the six months of the present financial year ended on December 31, exceeded the revenue by £8,279,763. The revenue was £19,599,158 and the expenditure £27,878,921. . The deficit to date is more than Mr. Lang's estimate for the whole year. Expenditure in.creased by over £2,000,000, compai*ed with the same period of the last financial year, and the reCeipts have fallen by £1,250,000 in the same period. The situation, however, is expected to impi'OVe during the next halfryear, as the ineome tax is due. Queensland's credit balanee on December 31, was £1,100,111,
