AUCKLAND, Wed. Following a raid by detectives, Thomas Curran, aged 54 years, tobacconist, of Hobson Street, appeared hefore Mr. E. C. Cutten, S.M., in the Police Court, charged with using his premises as a common gaming house. He pleaded guilty and was fined £100.

"The last time Curran was here m 1930, he was fined £100," said Detective Sergeant Kelly. "This is his fourth conviction; he is making this his profession." "I have no alternative, but to fin© you £109," said Mr. Cutten.
