BODY FOUND FLOATING IN WATER OFF PETONE

WELLINGTON, Tues. Three youths in a boat saw a body of a man floating in the water off Petone beach at 2.5 p.m. to-day, and secured it with a boat hook. They dragged it ashore where artificial respiration was applied without suecess. Dr. R. Bakewell arrived at 2.25 p.m. and found life extinct. A man in bathing suit had been seen in and out of the water after 10.30 a.m. Until late this afternoon he had not been definitely indentified.
