— By Telegraph — Copyright).
SYDNEY, Saturday. Forty-seven candidates will lose their £25 deposits, including eight Senate candidates. All except one Communist have forfeited their deposits. As the result of counting further preferential votes it now seems certain that Mr. J. E. Fenton will win in Maribyrnong. Mr. Cameron (United Australia Party) has overtaken Mr. Lawson (Pederal Labour) in Brisbane. Mr. Hunter Counter (Country Party) has almost caught Mr. Ferriclts (Federal L'abour) in a straight fight for Maranoa. It is( certain now that Mr. Lazzarini will be defeated in Werriwa. The remaining two doubtful seats in New South Wales are Cook and Reid, where the* Lang Planners, Messrs. Garden and Gander respectively, are having a hard struggle. The Senate count is proceeding steadily.
