FINAL SOCIAL
A very successful final social was held in the Majestic Ballroom on Deeember 11 by the committee of St. Michael's Parish.. This band of willing workers have run a series of socials extending over some months, by which_they have raised over £50 for relief of unemployed distress. The proceeds of the final social, about £22, are donated to the local Convent fund. The final of the card series resulted in the Christmas dinner being won by Mr. Dabb and the hidden number prize (a Christmas cake) by Mrs. Winslade. The card prizes for the evening went to Mrs. King ahd Mr. Armer. Four Monte Carlos run at intervals during the evening provided merriment for the dancers. A lucky number competition was won by Mrs. C. Mitchell, who received a Christmas cake. The promoters thank all committee members, those who kindly donated prizes and the public who contributed to the success of this and previous socials.
