This band of willing workers have run a series of socials extending over some months, by which_they have raised over £50 for relief of unemployed distress. The proceeds of the final social, about £22, are donated to the local Convent fund. The final of the card series resulted in the Christmas dinner being won by Mr. Dabb and the hidden number prize (a Christmas cake) by Mrs. Winslade. The card prizes for the evening went to Mrs. King ahd Mr. Armer. Four Monte Carlos run at intervals during the evening provided merriment for the dancers.
