APPEAL BOARD CHAIRMAN Mr. W. G .Riddell, ex-senior stipendiary magistrate at Wellington, has j been appointed by the Government to j the position of chairman of the Board of Appeal under the Cinematograph Films Act. The position was formerly filled by the late Mr. H. M. Gore. In announcing Mr. Riddell's appointment on Saturday, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Hon. A. Hamilton, stated that the Films Appeal Board, which is set up to deal with , appeals made by picture proprietors from decisions of the censor, consisted of a chairman and two members, representing th epieture and social welfare interests respectively. The two last-named appointments were held by Mrs. Florence Righton and Mrs. Katherine Preston.
