LONDON, Wednesday. A sudden outburst of pre-Christ-mas spending has hegun in the London stores, and the shops- are crowded all day. Semi- official reports indicate that seasonable purchases began this year two or three weeks later than usual. The extra note issuq to last week totalled £9,000,000 compared with £21,000,000 in the same period of 1930. The response to the appeal for the early payment of income tax promises to be good.
