INVERCARGILL, Wednesday. An unsuccessful attempt to blow open the safe in the office of the Majestic Theatre was made early this morning, but although gelignite was

apparently used on the safe, it resisted the efforts of the burglars, and was only slightly damaged. Entrance was effeeted through an unloclted window. Foiled in their attempt, the burglars had to be content with 4/- which was in the office. This is the second attempt to rob the theatre. About two months ago, an unsuccessful endeavour was made to enter the building.
