STEAMER NEWTON ELM LYING EASILY ON SANDBANK ATTEMPT TO REFLOAT

SYDNEY, Tuesday. The seas are now quieter and the Newton Elm is reported to be lying easily on the sandbank. Tugs are awaiting high water on Thursday for a fufther attempt to refloat the vessel.
