Rec. Dec. 21, 8.5 p.m. SYDNEY, Monday. The Stock Exchange to-day reflected the political turnover in a renewed wave of buying, prices rising markedly all round. The Commonwealth consolidated and banking stocks, also industrial securities all met an active market. Commonwealth, short term four per cents rose 20/- and longer dates 27/6 and 30/-, and Bank of New South Wales shares advanced 12/6. The rises at the first call proved rather too steep, and some slight declines were noted at noon. Bonds and investments maintained appreciation and insurance, gas, and steamship stocks were all firm.
