MARRIED MAN KILLED IN QUARREL AT OTAHUHU INSTANTANEOUS DEATH

AUCKLAND, Sunday As a result of a brawl in Atkinson Avenue, Otahuhu, at 6.30 p.m. on Saturday, Frederick Lovelock, aged 42 years, of Hutton Street, Otahuhu, was killed. The affair took place at the back of a hotel, where a immber of men had been drinking. A quarrel is said to have arisen as the men were Ieaving the hotel, and blows are said to have been struck. Lovelock was hit and fell, and his head is believed to have struck a stone. Death was almost instantaneous. Lovelock was a married man with four children, and was fore" man at R. and W. Hellaby's meat works at Westfield. No arrest had been made up to this afternoon, when the inquest was opened and adjourned.
