FIRST NIGHT

KING CARNIYAL AND COURT TO APPEAR IN STREETS OF ROTORUA PROCESSION THROUGH TOWN The details of the opening of Carnival Week, on Christmas. Eve, are now completed, and on that night King Carnival, a cheery personality well known to Rotorua citizens, will be announced from the steps of the Victoria Institute at 10 p.m. by the Town Crier. This personage will proclaim the commencement of his Majesty's reign in no uncertain manner. Heralded by a fanfare of trumpets and accompanied by his merry court of pierrots and dancing girls, the King and his retinue will move off on a circuit of the town, and the public who follow in his wake, it is hoped will lose their cares in revelry and funmaking.
