UNIFORM SCALE OF FEES SUGGESTED BY N.Z. BODY RATES LAID OWN
— By Telegraph — Copyright).
WELLINGTON, Wed. Steps for the establishment of uniform rates for landing and housing maehines, and tuition and the hire of aeroplanes, were discussed by the New Zealand Aero Club at its annual meeting to-day. The business occupied most of the afternoon, and scales were drawn up for submission to clubs. The charges to be levied on maehines landing in club-owned aerodromes, the meeting recommended should he: Landing, 2/-, garaging 2/6. The services of the ground engineer, were he required, would be charged on a time basis between 8 a.m. and 5.30 p.m.; at time and a half for the next two hours, and at double time thereafter, plus any expenses incurred in his transport. The Auckland Aero Club is not yet a member of the New Zealand Aero Club, so the scheme will not affect that club.
The scale oi charges ±or flying was also laid down, the arranged rates being: Dual instruction, £3 10s per hour; solo instruction, £2 10s; solo flying from the "A" license to its endorsement for carrying passengers, £1 10s, thereafter £2 per hour. The idea in reducing the rates for solo flying between the gaining of the "A" license and its endorsement is to encourage pilots to gain endorsement for cross-country flying. It was suggested that a pilot might be allowed free waiting time at his destination equal to that of his flying time, during daylight, to be charged at the rate of 2/6 per hour. In the case of inter-club visits, th'e scheme suggests that initial landing and housing fees might he rehated.
