SUNDAY SCHOOL

OHINEMUTU CHURCH PICNIC On Saturday last tlie Ohinemutu Church of England Sunday School held its annual picnic. The children, numbering about 70, were taken by train to Mamaku, where a most enjoyable day was spent. The Rev. Tureia Puka was unable personally to shepherd his flock, much to their regret. The Rev. Mati Rangi kindly took his place. The weather was all that could be wished. The place offers quite a variety of amusements and interests to youngsters. There was the beautiful bush to visit and by kind permission of Mr. W. Steele and Mr. Reed, the visitors were allowed the use of the domain with tennis courts and swings. Sports and games were most ably organised by Mr. Rainger, Miss Snoad and others. The mothers who had accompanied the party, prepared a sumptuous repast, which was much appreciated. An important item of the programme was the presentation of rewards for attendance at „the Sunday School. Prizes were also given to the winners in the sports 'competitions.
